Speaking to the church of Corinth Paul reminds them that their ministry success while impressive was to be viewed as nothing if they did not serve God out of love. If one was to speak in the tongues of angels, have all the knowledge possible, faith that could move a mighty mountain, give all one possesses to the poor or even be a martyr for righteousness sake, without love God would not approve of one’s actions.
