One of the final exhortations Paul gave to the church of Thessalonica was to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). This call to rejoice is not contingent upon our circumstances—whether they are favorable or adverse. Rather, our rejoicing is rooted in the profound and perpetual invitation to enter into the presence of the Lord as His beloved children. As believers, our joy springs from the unchanging reality of our relationship with God, who continually welcomes us into His presence with grace and love.
